A) How do I get a quote for my Granite Worktops or Quartz Worktops

We recognise that granite  and quartz worktops are a little more complex to quote than normal worktops.

You can use our simple 6 step system in the "Products" section of the site or you can click the "Manual quote form" and send/fax/post it to us and we will do it for you.

1. Granite/ Quartz Material Choice

We have grouped our most popular granite worktops into 4 groups – Standard, Select,Exclusive and Quartz.

In total we have over 300 granites in our range and can source any specific requirements you may have.If you cannot find what you are looking for on the site please contact us and we will find it for you.
Once you have confirmed your granite worktop order we will be happy to supply you with samples.

2. Plan Dimensions

To calculate how much granite you require we need to know the measurements of your granite/ quartz worktops, which can normally be taken from your kitchen plan.

Simply key the length and depth for each granite/ quartz worktop into the order screen and we will do the rest.

For your peace of mind, we will check all of the measurements personally at your home when we template, before any of the granite worktops are cut.

3. Edge Finish

To complete the look of your granite worktops all of the visible edges need to be polished. In addition they can be given a special profile shape if required.

Measure the total length of the visible edges in metres, and enter this into the estimate screen.
Please note that you will want to include the edges next to freestanding cookers. We also recommend that the top edge of your upstands are polished.

4. Customise

You can customise your granite worktops to suit the design of your kitchen.

You can specify the type of sink, taps and appliances you wish to use, and the granite worktops can be cut and polished accordingly. You can have the drainer grooves or even the complete drainer cut into the granite worktops too.

5. Finishing Touches

Why not use granite to complete the look of your kitchen with upstands at the back of  the worktop, splashbacks behind the hob and also your window sills?

6. Shopping Basket

At this stage your quotation is complete; however you can now:-

a) Continue to modify and refine your design

b) Save your quote for future reference

c) Contact us to place your order

When you decide to proceed we ask for a 40% deposit to confirm your order.

We will then contact you to arrange a date for Templating at your home; this is normally 3-4 weeks in the future. Our experts will make exact templates from your secured kitchen units and return to the factory to manufacture your granite worktops. If there are any differences from the original plan or additions then the final price may change.

We will return 7 days later to Deliver and Install your granite worktops.

B) What do I need to do before templating?

To enable the templaters to measure for your granite worktops it is important that the following points are carried out prior to our visit. Your kitchen installer will help with these:-

  1. All existing worktops must be removed.
  2. All surfaces/cabinets to be templated must be in their final position, complete, level and secured properly.
  3. Any freestanding appliances such as fridges, cookers etc. that the worktops abut to must be in their final position.
  4. All sinks, taps and hobs must be disconnected but available on site.
  5. If any walls around the worktops are to be plastered, they must be done either before templating or after fixing the granite worktops.
  6. A representative must be present during templating to agree all relevant details such as overhang, edge detail, height of splashbacks, joints, etc.
  7. Advice will also be given if any additional work needs to be carried out before the granite worktops can be fixed e.g. additional strapping where there is insufficient support.

If the templaters are unable to template at the agreed time, it will lead to a delay in your installation and a further charge for retemplating (£170&VAT).

C) How long does it take from templating to the installation?

It takes 7 days, e.g. if we template on a Wednesday we will be back to install your granite worktops on the following Wednesday, this excludes any major changes as a result of templating, Bank Holidays and unforeseen circumstances.

D) What do I need to do before installation of my granite worktops?

In order to install your granite worktops as professionally and accurately as possible, it is essential the following points are carried out prior to the fitters arriving on site.

  1. The installers will require clear and unobstructed access to your kitchen, to carry in the worktops.
    (n.b. 30mm granite weighs 90kg/m2)
  2. Any over mounted sink, tap or hob must be disconnected.
  3. All electrical, gas and sink fittings that interfere in any way with the installation of granite worktops to be removed.
  4. Any tiling in areas around the work surfaces must take place after fixing the granite worktops
  5. Standing on the finished granite worktops must be avoided.
  6. Where other trades follow on it is the customer's responsibility to cover the granite worktops with protective sheeting, as we do not allow any costs to do this work

Our installers will carefully look after all aspects of the granite installation. However, they are not qualified or insured to carry out electrical, plumbing or any other type of work on site.
